Learning About Islam

The Arabic letter Nun was used by the Islamic State jihadists in Iraq as the symbol for “Nasrani” (Nazarene), or Christian, to label Christian properties as part of their on-going effort to drive out the Ancient Christian Community with threats to either convert to Islam, or die.

How can you use the term radical without first identifying the norm?  Normative Islam is based on the unabrogated commands of Allah in the Koran, and the examples and teachings of Muhammad (the Sunnah).  If the Koran and the Sunnah support a Muslim’s actions, that Muslim is not radical, he is devout.

Many non-Muslims are interested in learning about Islam, but how do they do this? They can start off by reading books about Islam. I have completed six such books, and they are listed on the “Books” page. Each of these books relies heavily on authoritative Islamic sources, not my opinions, and each is well documented if you want to inquire further. Each of my books is available at Amazon.com.

But many people simply don’t have time in their busy lives to sit down and read a book about Islam. So, I wrote the Islam Series of brochures – each is short, single subject, easy to read, and easier to hand out.

They are located on the “Brochures” page and arranged by category. Each brochure relies on authoritative Islamic sources, most of which are explained in the brochure titled Introduction to Islam. And each brochure can be printed out on the front and back of one piece of paper and can be read in a matter of a few minutes.

You can download any and all of these brochures. To print a brochure, start by printing one side only. Then pull this piece of paper out of the printer and, without turning it in any way, place it back onto the top of the paper stack to print out the other side. You then have a brochure that can be tri-folded. Please feel free to print out and distribute these brochures to as many people as possible.

As time goes by, I will occasionally be adding additional information to this site, so don’t hesitate to come back for a look.

Please contact me if you have any questions.
